ENG/ Since 2018 Garage Gallery has been hosting an international residency for artists and curators who prepare a final presentation of their work together with the exhibition after the residency. We provide the selected residents with accommodation and partial funding for their work so that they can fully commit to their planned project. By inviting international artists, we aim to create a meaningful exchange of experiences and creative perspectives. 

CZ/ Od svého založení Garage Gallery pořádá každý rok mezinárodní rezidenční program pro umělce/kyně a kurátory/ky, který je zakončen výstavou. Poskytujeme ubytování a částečné krytí nákladů, abychom umožnili kontinuální práci na výzkumu a kreativním procesu. Zveme mezinárodní umělce a umělkyně s cílem pečovat a podporovat výměnu zkušeností a nových perspektiv.





HOW TO APPLY
INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCY AT GARAGE GALLERY 2024


Our international residency is open to any artist who does not have a permanent residence in Czech Republic. Are you interested in discovering the local scene and participating in the gallery's residency program during the summer of 2024? The residency will end with a final solo exhibition of the selected applicant's project. The residency is for one or two individuals due to the size of the offered accommodation.

The call is open to:
  • international artists and art collectives working in any medium

Duration:
The residency will run from 1st of July till September 15th 2024. Divided into a two month long residency and two weeks of installation and preparation for the upcoming exhibition which will take place in the gallery starting in mid September 2024.

What we offer:
  • The selected candidate will get a stipend of 2 000 euros (including travel and living costs) + installation budget (up to 500 euros)
  •  Accommodation (for max. 2 people)
  • PR & promotion on social media (professional photography of the installation, posting on online curated platforms,
    video reports, articles etc.)
  • Technical support & installation assistance for the final show
  • Garage Gallery organizes professional meetings with curators, local artists and other cultural workers in order to connect the visiting artist with Prague's art scene

Residency conditions:
The residency includes a final presentation of the artist’s work in the form of a final exhibition in Garage Gallery. We ask each resident to leave one art piece in the gallery’s collection.

Accommodation information:
We offer a free residential space for max. 2 people above the gallery space. The apartment is furnished, has two separate small bedrooms (one single and one double bed), a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine. The shared bathroom is accessible from the hall.

2) Short project proposal that you would like to develop for the exhibition at Garage Gallery

Selection Process:
We reserve the right not to notify each applicant separately about the selection process. The selected applicant/s will be notified by email and announced by April 15th 2024 on our Instagram and website.

RESIDENCY FOR ARTISTS BASED IN CZ

Garage Gallery vyhlašuje Open Call na výstavní projekt v roce 2024. Výzva je otevřená všem umělcům/kyním, žijícím v České Republice. Výzvy se mohou účastnit jednotlivci i skupiny. Prosíme zájemce a zájemkyně, aby poslali své portfolio a popis plánovaného projektu do 20.3.2024 na garagegalleryprague@gmail.com


Garage Gallery poskytuje:
  • finanční příspěvek na náklady spojené s instalací (15 000 Kč)
  • honorář pro umělce/kyně (10 000 Kč)
  • technickou podporu při instalaci výstavy
  • fotodokumentaci
  • PR


V rámci přihlášky posílejte:
  • portfolio + krátký životopis vystavujících
  • popis projektu, případná vizualizace


Výsledek bude publikován na sociálních sítích a webových stránkách galerie do konce března 2024.
